The Alpha Tau Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on June 30, 1934, on the campus of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This chapter was chartered by seven young, ambitious ladies who saw the need for an organization to serve the needs of the campus and surrounding area.
